Why I would upgrade to this Jameson
Jameson Black Barrel is the bottle I would choose when ordinary Jameson feels too light but the recipient still wants Irish whiskey to be easy. The double-charred barrel influence gives it more toasted oak, vanilla, butterscotch, fudge, nutty sweetness, and spice, without losing the soft, familiar Jameson shape.
It is especially useful for bourbon drinkers who are curious about Irish whiskey. The char, vanilla, and toffee give them a bridge into the category, while the smooth blend keeps it relaxed enough for mixed company. It is not trying to be Redbreast 12, and that is fine; it has a different job.
I would pour it at a housewarming, St. Patrick's Day gathering, or casual celebration where the bottle needs to disappear for the right reasons. It is friendly, recognisable, and more interesting than the standard pour.
A richer, toastier Jameson that works when Irish whiskey needs more barrel warmth.
